WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW.
Okay, that was amazing.
What I remember from the concert )

Also, when I went with Kat to the LA pit afterwards, I looked up at the TV and was like, "WTF, HI, DAVID TENNANT." He was on both TVs and holy shit, they were playing Journey's End.
CAN NEVER ESCAPE.
OH DONNA.
OH IANTO.
...
OH ROSE.

It was made of sex. Not unlike Patrick. And I was actually standing in a pretty good place. Right near the middle, right in front of his piano and two people away from the stage.
I really need to get over my thing of: "Oh no, I can't possibly do anything that might throw off the performer." Although sometimes I wish that people at the concert would be less douchy and DRUNK. People: you are not his "biggest fan" if you come to his concert drunk. You just suck. Everyone hates you. Stop screaming in my ear. Screaming is okay. BUT NOT DIRECTLY IN  MY EAR.
I used to be closer to the front but this photographer shouldered his way past me and I let him because I thought he was just passing through but then he stood DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME.

I think complaining is easier for me than gushing, or something.
Because in all honesty, I really did have a great time. His music is so gorgeous, I musicgasmed a lot. I spent a lot of the concert with either a painful grin because I was grinning so hard or a sort of dreamy enthralled expression. I bet if he saw me (which he might have because the lights kept shining RIGHT ON ME OW MY EYES) he thought I was touched in the head or something.
He played a really great set, even if it didn't have This Weather but he played all my other favourites which was good. As I haven't listened to The Bachelor yet, I was worried I'd know nothing.

Oh, and also, he kind of had a hissy fit in the middle and walked off without doing Tristan. It was pretty funny to me. I feel cruel for saying so because he had technical difficulties and personal issues but even so, I couldn't stop laughing for about 5 minutes. Maybe because it was kind of surreal.
But he came back on and apologised so that was all right.
Actually, I need to say this, because this was also hilarious. If I got pissed off and had to be coaxed back on stage, I would not come back on in only an open button-down shirt and a thong. But he did. I was like, "Oh, awesome, he's back AHHHHHH AND SO IS HIS BUM. HI, PATRICK WOLF'S BUM."
Also he stripped before then too. I was not aware he stripped. But he had so many layers that with how hot it was, I can understand why. But that was a little bit funny too.

I think for my great position in front of the stage, I kind of sacrificed getting touched, though. By him AND the opening acts. Being right at the front or directly in the middle seems to have been the best place for that but it was okay. I had great angles on everything else.
....the only thing that wasn't great were these bros standing behind me who were mysogynistic homophobe assholes and I don't know why they were there. All I know is I spent a great deal of the opening acts restraining myself from punching them.
And then they were replaced later by annoying drunk people. Oh well. I had an awesome time and heard some brilliant music and that's all that matters.

Also, my dad won't stop playing Hard Times now.

It was FABULOUS. I went last night and guys? I was in the same room as Bret and Jemaine. Okay, I'm seriously happy. They were hilarious and excellent and there was a surprising amount of heckling that they dealt with perfectly. MAN they're funny. There was also a woman who flung stuff up onto stage that corresponded with the songs, a la Rocky Horror which was a little dumb but at the same time, it meant Bret was wearing an eye patch during Bowie. And Jemaine quoted from Labyrinth.
There was also a guy called Nigel with a cello, proving that cellos improve everything. Jenny with cello was SUBLIME. It was all so gorgeous, honestly. I've forgotten their exact set list but if I went through a list of their songs I could probably figure out what they did with each one.
ALSO they totally un-cockblocked me by playing the Bus Driver Song, my utter favourite. They keep almost doing it in the show but they never did and then they did it NOW with a cello and three-part-harmony. I was quite happy. THREE PART HARMONY. Also, I've noticed that Bret has to play the girl in a lot of songs which was kind of funny but it meant we got to sing along for the Girlfriends song. I love that. About the only song they didn't play that I'm obsessed with was You Don't Have to be a Prostitute but that was also okay because they played everything else I love.
I think Jemaine rapped about having sex with a cake tin during Freaky. Paisley, Sharmy and I freaked out. Haha. Freaked out during Freaky.
I'm just writing everything I remember here. They did a mash-up of Brahbrah and Sugalumps. I love mash-ups. That was pretty good although Bret touched the hand of a woman and she grabbed his hand and tried to come up on stage and Bret went "Whoa!" and jumped back. Silly woman. That's not what he meant to do. Don't push your luck.
Anyway, this was the Greatest Day and it's been the first concert I've ever been to where I was actually a huge fan of the performers.
Oh, right, and the opener, Eugene Mirman, made me laugh so hard I cried and then started coughing and nearly threw up. A success.
