Title: A Day At The Fair
Series (Story number): Who's Right? (6)
Summary: No-one has a more wholesome relationship than the Doctor and the Master. Except nearly everybody. 50's AU.
Rating: PG
Characters/pairings: Master/Doctor
Author's notes: Written in text to Leah A. Based off of the last one. I told Leah that I was writing a story about 'an affair' and she misunderstood me and got very excited about the story about 'the fair' that I was writing. So, of course, not to let her down, I wrote it. Explanation of series here.

The Doctor paused, his handful of cotton candy completely forgotten as he stared at the Master with an idiotic look on his face.

“What’s that for?” he eventually managed to ask.

“It’s for you,” said the Master, feeling very cross and almost even a little bit embarrassed. This had seemed way funnier when he came up with it.

“Yes, I got that part,” said the Doctor. “WHY? I mean, it’s not as if you generally get me, well, ANYTHING. Let alone an enormous stuffed cat.”

“I won it,” said the Master, totally ignoring the way the Doctor was trying to steer the conversation. “And I certainly don’t want the fucking thing. Just take it. Now. Before anyone sees me.” The Doctor gave the Master a searching look then ate his piece of cotton candy, shoved the rest of it into his mouth and then took a ridiculous amount of time licking each finger clean in what the Master considered FAR too suggestive a manner. Finally, he took the bloody cat out of the Master’s arms and tried to wedge it under one arm before discovering that it was too big and having to hug it to his chest with both arms after all.

“Shall I win you another one?” the Master smirked. “I could. These carnival games are ridiculously easy.”

“Where could I possibly hold it?” said the Doctor.

“Exactly,” said the Master happily. The Doctor rolled his eyes and the Master felt much more comfortable until he noticed that the Doctor was giving him a sort of affectionately irritated look.

Ugh.

“Right,” said the Master quickly in order to stop the Doctor from turning it into a Moment, “let’s see if you can keep hold of that thing if we go on that enormous spinning structure.”

The Doctor protested weakly as the Master grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him to the spinny thing.

As it turned out, the Doctor couldn’t keep hold of the stuffed cat while being whirled madly around and the cat flew through the air and knocked over a small child.

It made the Master’s day.
