brb_evil | Man, I hate how I lost my last entry. This one will have to do.

Right, here is what my last one was about:
I blathered for a while on how I wasn't going to do anything because I was so lazy, and then I did anyways.

This is why a Ford/Arthur relationship would never go like how the members of Fanfiction.net think it will.

Arthur is WAY too straight-laced. He even has trouble with girls. If a guy ever asked him out he would probably babble incoherently then run away. Remember, he's from the seventies, so he's really not accustomed to anything.

Ford, on the other hand probably had loads of boyfriends before he met Arthur then realised they would freak him out. I think Ford is one of those guys who likes guys and girls except I don't know what the name for that is.

Now, without further ado, here is how a conversation between Ford and Arthur would go if Ford came on to Arthur.

Ford: Hello Arthur.
Arthur: Hello.
Ford(Slowly): You know, you have nice eyes.
Arthur(Panicked): What?! What?! What!? What!? What!?
Ford: (Sighs, look to the side and then back) I was joking.
Arthur: Oh, what? Oh, hahaha, yes. Joking! Ha, I can take a joke as well as the next man. MAAAAAN. MAN. Being the man that I am.
Trillian: (Walks by)
Arthur(Wildly): Hello Trillian. You're looking nice today. Which I say because I like GIRLS. Yes, GIRLS are what I like. As I am a MAN.
Ford: (Facepalm)
Trillian: What?

As you can see, it wouldn't turn out too well.
Unless...

Ford: (Pokes wall) Alright, I'm bored. I know what will be fun! I'll come on to Arthur! (Walks up to Arthur) Hello Arthur. You have a nice smile.
Arthur: What?! What!? What?! What!? What!? What!? What!?
Ford: (Takes out popcorn and begins to shove it into his mouth)
Arthur: What!? What!? Agh! (Runs over to the Improbability Drive Button)
Trillian: (Walks up and stops him) Arthur, the Improbability Drive isn't the solution to EVERYTHING.
Arthur(Panicked): It is to this!
Ford: (Grins)
Trillian: Ford, what did you do?
Ford: I told him a joke.
Arthur(Relieved) Oh, really? Hahaha. Yes, this is funny to me because being the MAN that I am...
(Three hours later)
Arthur: ...as I like GIRLS...
Ford: (Laughing so hard he's crying)
Trillian: (Trying not to laugh)
Zaphod: (Filming it) Oh man, this is so great. I'm going to watch this all the time now.

That's basically what would happen. Thank you to Penny for figuring it out with me orally at lunch.

(Much later. Everyone is squished into a room, laughing)
Arthur: (Walks up to room) What's so funny?
Clap: You! Ahahahahahahaha!
Arthur: Oh... (Walks away)
Zaphod: This is so worth stealing that camera!
